On January 4, 2020, the Laboratory for Breeding and Healthy Breeding of Sea Treasures, jointly established by Shandong Oriental Ocean Technology Co., Ltd. and the Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, held the 11th academic seminar in Yantai.

This seminar is organized by the Oriental Ocean Organization. The leaders attending this seminar are Tang Jiyu, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Oriental Ocean Co., Ltd. and President of Ocean Business Department, Vice President Sun Haibin, Assistant President Wang Shunkui and Liu Yuntao, Director Wang Guowen, More than 20 people including Manager Qu Shancun, Manager Jiang Yunning, Manager Chi Chunwei, Director Li Long, Director Liu Yaorong, Director Li Zhiling, Director Li Xiaojie, Director Liu Jialiang; Executive Deputy Director of Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences/Yantai Institute of Coastal Zones More than ten experts and scholars including researcher Yang Hongsheng, researcher Li Jun, researcher Zhang Libin, senior engineer Xu Shihong, associate researcher Li Xian, associate researcher Lin Chenggang and senior engineer Liu Shilin attended the meeting.

At the meeting, President Tang Jiyu and Researcher Yang Hongsheng delivered speeches respectively, reviewing a series of important achievements made by the two parties in 2019 under the "scientific research institute + enterprise" cooperation model. President Tang Jiyu fully affirmed the joint laboratory's progress in closed recirculating aquaculture of Atlantic salmon and sea cucumber breeding, etc., analyzed the current situation and development prospects of Atlantic salmon and sea cucumber industry, and emphasized the three elements of capital, technology and industry. It is hoped that the two sides will further deepen cooperation and seek common development of science and technology and industry. Researcher Yang Hongsheng made a comprehensive summary of the close cooperation between the two sides for more than ten years and the role of science and technology in the development of enterprises, emphasizing that scientific research must be based on the needs of industrial development, give full play to the leading role of scientific and technological innovation, and realize the breeding of fine varieties and the seed industry. Closely integrated, practically solve the problems of industrial development, put forward valuable suggestions on the future development direction of the joint laboratory, and further discussed related issues such as strengthening cooperation in the field of marine ranching. During the seminar, researcher Li Jun and engineer Liu Shulan made reports titled "Technology and Demonstration of Efficient Propagation of Atlantic Salmon Species" and "Development, Research and Evaluation of Atlantic Salmon Feed". Senior engineers made reports on "The 2019 Work Summary and 2020 Work Plan of the Sea Treasures Breeding and Healthy Breeding Laboratory", "Research Progress in Apostichopus japonicus Breeding in 2019 and Research Plan in 2020". The problems existing in scientific research and production were discussed in depth, and detailed plans and arrangements were made for the research direction in 2020.

It has been 12 years since the establishment of the Haizhen Fine Breed Breeding and Healthy Breeding Laboratory. With the joint efforts of Oriental Ocean and the Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the laboratory has always adhered to the original intention of "research for innovation and application of knowledge", focusing on the research and development of "new varieties, new technologies, new equipment, new models, and new products". It has carried out technical research such as the selection and breeding of fine sea cucumber varieties and fish engineering, and has achieved a series of scientific and technological achievements, realizing the close integration and common development of scientific research and production.
